We are seeing the tail end of runoff throughout the Upper Platte and Laramie River drainages now. We are still seeing pretty good conditions and insect activity, but all of our rivers and tributary streams are running lower than usual for this time of year. We have been having good fishing on both the Platte and the Laramie and all higher elevation tributary streams will provide great options over the next couple of weeks.

Upper North Platte
Flows: ~ 220 cfs (Northgate)
Conditions: The Platte has been dropping consistently over the past week and conditions have been improving. We are seeing plenty of insect activity with the usual caddis, PMDs, BWOs, and some scattered mayflies. Fish have been getting after attractor hopper patterns pretty consistently with improving water clarity. Hopper dropper patterns are the go-to for this time of year, and we have been getting pretty good results throwing streamers into a little bit faster water as well!
Flies: Dries; Chubby Chernobyl, Stimulator, Humpy, Amy's Ant, Light Cahill, Blue Wing, Elk Caddis, Para Adams, Humpy, B/C Hopper Dropper, 409 Yeager
Nymphs; Pat's Rubber Legs,20 Incher, Caddis Larva, Blowtorch, Guide's Choice Hare's Ear, Copper John, Duracell Bomb, Pheasant Tail, 307 Nymph, Prince Nymph,
Streamers; Galloup's Nancy P, Mini Dungeon, Circus Peanut, Mini Bangtail, Heisenberg, Zoo Cougar, Sculpzilla, Tequeely, Thin Mint, Slumpbuster, Platte Spider
Laramie River
Flows: ~ 50 cfs (Woods Landing, WY)
Conditions: The Laramie has been dropping with improving fishing conditions. We are seeing fish go after bigger streamer patterns while the flows are still up a bit, seeing good results with mini Circus Peanuts and Dungeons. Hopper droppers will be another solid option as water clarity improves. Much like the Platte, hopper and caddis attractor patterns seem to be the most effective this time of year. Stonefly, caddis, and larger mayfly nymphs will be the most effective nymph patterns right now.
Flies: Dries; Blue Wing, Light Cahill, Stimulator, Humpy, Amy's Ant, Foam PMX, Chubby Chernobyl, 409 Yeager, Humpy, Little Yellow Stone
Nymphs; 20 Incher, Pat's Rubber Legs, Tim's Stone, San Juan Worm, Get Down Worm
Streamers; Mini Bangtail, Mini Dungeon, Mini Circus Peanut, Sculpzilla, Slumpbuster, Wolly Bugger, Platte Spider, Stacked Blonde, Zoo Cougar
Tributary Streams
Flows: ~ 25-150 cfs
Conditions: Tributary streams are coming into summer form providing great clarity and cooler water temperatures. We should be seeing excellent conditions on most of the Upper Platte and Laramie River tributaries throughout the next couple of weeks.
Flies: Dries; Stimulator, Humpy, Elk Caddis, Para Adams, Amy's Ant, Dave's Beetle, Chubby Chernobyl
Nymphs; Prince Nymph, Copper John, 307 Nymph, Psycho Prince, 20 Incher, Rubber Legs, Blow Torch, Hare's Ear
Streamers; Thin Mint, Wolly Bugger, Platte River Spider, Tequeely, Slumpbuster, Pine Squirrel, Dirty Hippie, Baby Gonga
Alpine Lakes and Streams
Conditions: Most lakes should be accessible by now, although some lingering snowpack may complicate access to some higher elevation lakes still.
Flies: Nymphs; Hare's Ear, Copper John, Pheasant Tail, Scuds, Zebra Midge
Streamers; GB Crystal Bugger, Pine Squirrel, Platte Spider, Thin Mint, Balanced Thin Mint
