Warm weather is in the forecast for the coming week, and while runoff seems to be winding down overall, expect to see the main branches of the Laramie and North Platte rivers fluctuate a bit over the coming days as higher elevation snow continues to melt. Conditions on the main branches will be day-to-day with these fluctuating flows. Tributary streams and alpine lakes will offer more consistent options as we approach the end of the runoff window.
Nearly all alpine lakes and streams should be accessible at this point and are typically fishing great this time of year! Give us a call at the shop for the most up-to-date conditions and reports (307) 460-2221.

Upper North Platte
Flows: ~ 400 cfs (Northgate)
Conditions: The Platte has started to fluctuate in flows a bit and conditions have become day-to-day. Fishing has been excellent when flows are on the drop, and fair when flows are rising. Expect flows to rise a bit before runoff subsides with increasing temperatures this week. Salmonflies seem to have tapered off from last week, but we are still seeing fish going after big bugs on the surface. Large stonefly nymphs continue to produce, and caddis nymphs and larva have been productive options as well.
