The Extra Mile | BACKYARD - WYOMING ARCHERY ELK HUNTING
Public land elk hunting may be one of the greatest and most unique challenges in the bowhunting world. With success rates hovering around 10% nationwide, coming home empty handed is a much more likely scenario than getting it done. But, the environments that the chase brings us, the excitement of being in the wilderness with screaming elk, and the camaraderie of striving together towards a seemingly insurmountable goal is what keeps us coming back year after year.
The Extra Mile | HOLE IN THE EARTH
Steep walls, jagged rocks, slick boulders, and an unforgiving river bottom - these are all significant traits of many of the American west's great canyon fisheries. There are no long drives down sketchy backgrounds, or even an obscene amount of hiking - but many points to descend into one of these canyon fisheries are downright intimidating. In the pilot episode of The Extra Mile series, we attempt to find the path of most resistance, and, with any luck, some great fishing to go along with it.
The Extra Mile | Teaser
With an exploding worldwide human population, many of our favorite rivers, streams, canyons, and mountains are busier than ever before. Does this mean the "good ol' days" are gone? Or are we simply being forced out of our comfort zones? There is no doubt that if hunters or anglers seek solitude, they have to work for it. The Extra Mile is all about putting in that extra bit of effort to get just a little more out there. It's all about seeing what's around the next bend in the river, or what the valley below the next ridge line might hold. Whether we are hunting, fly fishing, or simply exploring the wilderness - our perpetual search for solitude continually brings us to some of the most impressive places in the world, and we occasionally stumble upon some great hunting and fishing along the way.
